  1. id say I doubt it but you can try

  2. I think you can for daytime only.

  3. You can become a civilian pilot if you can prove (with a special test) that you can distinguish colors well enough for flying purposes.  The requirements for color vision are not very stringent. If you can see well enough for some types of flying but not others, you might be able to get a license with restrictions, e.g., no night flying.

  4. Not in the military, and highly unlikely for any civilian commercial application.

But for the relatively new "sport license" which is VFR-only, and limited to certain aircraft, it's worthing asking an FAA flight surgeon.

You've got nothing to lose by investigating.

  5. Nope. I'm colour blind too, and I can never fly a plane!

  6. mmmmm i dont think so....sorry dude

  7. That all depends on what the flight surgeon says.  Personally, I rather doubt it, but for a VFR only license, you may make it.  Why don't you ASK THE DOCTOR?

  8. no

  9. I agree with warbird pilot. If you really want to fly look in to getting a SODA. I had a friend who was told by a doctor that he was color blind. They did the light gun test at the airport and he passed no problem. good luck

  10. it depends

  11. See an AME or talk to the FAA about a SODA, Statement of Demonstrated Competency.

They will take you to an airport and flash the light gun at you, if you can distinguish between the red and green, you passed.
