Can i still become a Helicopter Pilot in the US Army if i have had my appendix removed(several years ago)?

  1. You will be given a complete physical and will have to list the surgery on your application. Unless the surgery or scar is still causing you problems you will be fine. Be prepared to give the name of the surgeon and the name and address of the hospital that preformed the appendectomy. It doesn't hurt to get a copy of the medical records pertaining to the incident and have them on hand for review. The more common disqualifying factors are vision, hearing or color blindeness.

  3. That will only be determined after a military exam.  I had to go to heart specialists before the Navy would let me join.
