will these factors effect my eligibility to become an officer in the air force through the rotc program

  1. In the early stages of your enlistment it should not be a factor.  It depends on whether your father did something that would make the Government believe you are a security risk.  It also depends on what field of service you enlist in.  An officer that is in charge of a Nuclear silo is scrutinized a thousand times more than an officer in charge of the supply depot.  Ask an airforce recruiter for the most reliable information.

  2. Felonies and mental disorders of relatives rarely factor in. You haven't by chance inherited the mental problems have you? Go for it!!!... Prove yourself in the ROTC and then be what you can be... good luck with whatever you decide.

  3. I can't speak for the Air Force, but it seems that YOU are the potential officer not your dad or aunt. I don't think it would matter unless your dad was a domestic terrorist.
