Can i still eat my bacon?

I was frying up some bacon when a fly flew around me, i managed to hit it and it went straight in the frying pan onto my bacon.

eww, ive just written a food hygiene course, and through my research i found that when flies land on food, they vomit and defecate on it. so if you like a bit of p**p and puke for brekkie, go for it.

yea you sure can.

Im pretty sure that by cooking it your killing a lot more bacteria that was on the meat already than was on the fly, if that is what your worried about.

i would jus rip off the part of the bacon that the fly fell on and throw it away and eat the rest

Do you think flies are not present in every part of food processing?  And we are talking about hot bacon for your purposes.  Any fly secretions would be sterilized in seconds at that temperature, and not have a chance to culture.

There are whole cultures that live off insects as a source of protein.

Go ahead and eat it.  If you get sick, I will give you a dollar.  (I was going to say $100, but then I realized I have no way to moderate this promise with proof.)
