The brand of the motherboard is not what's important as far as determining compatability (most often).  Not to say that brand isn't important, but for your circumstance you need to make sure it has a PCI-E slot, preferably a x16 PCI-E slot.

Yes you can, make sure you have an open PCI express slot though.  If your motherboard is a nVidia chipset, you could still get a ATI graphics card, you just cannot crossfire them.  But for Intel or AMD chipsets, you can crossfire if you would like to.
