Can i straighten my hair before using hot rollers?

my hair is pretty wavy and has been dyed a lot so its not in the best shape and it always looks great straightened i wanted to straighten it and then use hot curlers to curl it because i like the look the hot curler gives but will it still curl?

Straightening your hair before hot rolling it is a waste of time, and it causes more heat damage to your hair if you're doing both so close together.  I don't understand why you would do that anyway.
