I own a buisness in Pa. I was switching from cavalier to verizon. I signed contract on 6/23/08 with 7/08/08 as the day to switch. The day was switched to 7/31/08. On 7/31/08 no dial tone on all 3 lines.Have been getting the run around and they are telling no service until 8/6/08. They cant not forward calls or nothing. They said it is on their end. I would like to be compensated for all of this. Do i have a case.

  1. No but you will get a refund for the days that you have no service.

  2. Yes ... if you lost business because of their s***w up ... you can sue ... get an attorney ... now!

All these companies give you the runaround .. but they can't do that to the courts.

  3. Well technically if you switched over, it's not really their fault. Plus, the most you could get is probably a refund of a month's bill.

  4. I would say that you can sue for anything but I really do not think that you have a case.

You should speak with a Manager and ask them to credit you for the days that you have not had service and go from there.

  5. Seems to me that in this country you can sue for ANYTHING.

  6. You have nothing.  You made the choice to switch. Maybe you can talk Verizon into giving you a month free or something but seriously, you don't have much more than that. What's up with people these days wanting to sue everyone for everything?

  7. oh my gosh. my friend has had the same problem and she is getting very mad about it and they keep making stupid exsuses. she has a lawyer and is going to talk to them about this so maybe it could be

  8. No.  the only thing you can do is get free service or credit from 7/31 until they get it working again...

  9. Yep, you got a case.  They should at least compensate for money you paid for services not rendered.  Since you have a business you may be able to throw in lost revenue due to the hindered communications abilities.
