So today got new fins and i was out learning an having fun on my 7'11" fb when suddenly i lifted my board out of the water an noticed the middle fin had come off, i tried riding waves after that but idk if it was just my mind or what i just couldnt stand on a wave after that, is it still possible to ride waves the same with only two or should i just pony up 15$ for a middle fin?

  1. You can ride the board straight without the middle fin, but it won't help when turning.  The two side bites are too small to ride alone, and you'll spin out on turns.  You won't have fun at all.

  2. A twinnie?  Nobody rides a twinnie on the North Shore anymore!!!

You can ride with 2 fins all day long if you want...obviously you were but just didn't realize it.  Once you start getting serious though, and get better at turning down the line, you're gonna want that center fin.  You might want to bring the board into a local shop to have it fitted, and make sure it is replaceable.  Or you might want to scrap that old tank altogether and get yourself a nice foam longboard.  Good Luck!!!
