Can i swim in a pool with my retainers?

for some reason im thinking the chlorine in the pool with cause a spontaneous reaction with my retainers and make it explode in my mouth or something.

or it could just ruin it.

  1. The doctor recommends you not too...

    Well the doctor told me and I haven't worn my retainers under water..

    I'm sure they'll give you a list of what to do and what not to do.. Because they did it to me...

    PICK ME PICK ME!! or else!! haha  


  2. Compared to your mouth and all its enzymes and other chemicals, pool water is pretty safe to your retainer.

    If you want to do an at-home test, take a little household bleach (which is called chlorine when you throw it in a pool) and swab the bleach on your retainer - not in your mouth. My guess is that nothing at all will happen.

    Be sure to rinse the bleach off the retainer before using it. Bleach is toxic.
