  1. LOL at one answer! Theres no sharks in our rivers!

Yes, you can swim if you're from the USA. Anywhere else you'd die first. The St. Lawrence River in Ontario and Quebec would probably be your best bet. Where I live we're really close to the states and only divided by the river, my friends brother swam it once. But you'd have to have a really high endurance and go on a calm day. Any wind causes white caps which would make it harder.

  2. If you really want to.

    I wouldnt suggest it though.

  3. Yes you sure can swim to Canada....go for it

  4. From where?

    It's possible..

but depending on where you start it's probably not the best idea.

  5. sure the sharks would love to have you.

  6. Sure... but why swim when you can walk?

  7. Sure! Swimming across the Great Lakes used to be something marathon swimmers did quite a lot of. Marilyn Bell did it in the 50's - 1954 I think - Lake Ontario from New York to Ontario.  I know we were all glued to the radio - tv was not a household thing yet but those who had it saw it on the news. She started in Youngstown NY and swam to Toronto. I know others have done it or at least tried since then but that is the one that has stuck with me - it was such an amazing feat at the time.  Seems to me they named a park after her or maybe it was a street. Someone from Toronto may be able to clarify that.

  8. You have to swim.  If  you tried to drive, you'd flood the engine.

  9. Absolutely. You can swim from Point Roberts to Boundary Bay in just a matter of minutes.

  10. well, how well do you swim and where are you starting from?

no. generally, a bad idea. So personally, i'd say no. too cold, too many dangerous beasties and it's waaaaay too far from anywhere i would be (australia? you dont want to be swimming for 30 hours.
