  1. I am not quite sure. My friend is taking many things over and I don't think he is paying but don't quote me. I hope you have a great time over there.

  2. There's not much to it, at the border the line splits into the "declarar" and "nada de declarar" lanes, go into the declaration lane and talk to the officer there. I can't imagine it being more than MX$200 (pesos, not dollars).

There's also the possibility of it not being heavy and trying to hide it under clothes and luggage and going through the no declaration line, but i wouldn't recommend that unless you want to play stupid with the police if you get nabbed by the random inspection light.

  3. Alright when I moved from Vegas to Mexico by plane I packed up all my clothes, a Sony VAIO Desktop (with mouse, flatscreen monitor, and 5.1 Surround sound), a 32" Plasma, and a printer to top it all off.

When I got to Mexico City's airport they started to tell me how I couldn't import anything of that type. I kept insisting the airport security that it was all used equipment. They took dust samples of the TV to make sure it was used, and opened up my PC to find dust, and the socks that I managed to fit inside the PC, LOL. I didn't pay any extra fees apart from the $100 USD for all the over baggage I had on me.

I don't think you should have any problems with it, specially if you're driving. as far as I know, just be honest about the computer, that it's used, and what you're gonna do with the computer and you shouldn't have a problem. They shouldn't really charge you an extra fee though.
