Can i take a razor on a plane?

i am going to the UK next summer and ive never been on a plane before. do they really sometimes randomly strip search people? and i really don;t want to buy a razor to shave my face there so can i take just a regular gillete razor on the plane?

  1. Any kind of razor designed to shave your face, whether it be electric or a gillete type razor is acceptable as a carry-on item.

    You just can't take the obvious, such as box-cutters and what not.


  2. Just pack it, you don't need to try carrying it on.  As for the random searches, they'll occasionally pull random people aside to search their bag more stringently, but you're not going to get strip searched, no.  

    Wear clean socks.

  3. "They" do not "randomly strip search" anybody.

    The airline security people do randomly do a wand inspection.

    Razors:

    Disposable or electric - no problem

    Straight razor - won't get past x-ray; don't even try

    Just put a Gillette disposable in your toilet kit and don't worry.

  4. I suggest getting a few cheap plastic disposables.  That won't be a problem.

  5. Yes you can bring a razor with you. Its even allowed in you checked bag or in a carry on.
