  1. imovie and a firewire cam is the perfect start to making movies. you have everything you need.

imovie is a great introduction but it quickly becomes limited when you start using it regularly. when you find you are exceeding the limits of imovie get started on final cut express or pro.

its a steep learning curve but it's a kick **** app.

  2. Yea.

    Windows movie maker.

  3. yep... hook up your camera to the computer via firewire.  Its better than USB because the data goes though a constant stream.  USB delivers data in bursts so there is more of a chance of lost frames when importing via USB.

Hook everything up with firewire and capture into iMovie.  The only thing is you can't really add many different effects because there's only one track I believe.  Also the effects on iMovie are kinda lame and you have to stick to them.

  4. Apple is the best.

    iLife / iMovie

    Good Luck!

  5. yeah.  attach the camera, through a usb cable then find the "import" button.  import the footage and start editing.
