Can i take another ibuprofen?

i have been taking ibuprofen for like 3 days straight because of a headache. today i took one at 2:30 pm, then another one at 5:30, even though you are supposed to wait 4 hours, but i figured since you can take 2 at a time i'm fine. then i took another one at 9:30, can i take another one now, at almost 4 am, or should i try another method?

Since youre halving the dose youre probably fine. But if its not working you should try another medicine. And get some sleep!

If this pill popping ur doing isnt working with this drug you should try something else that you think may be more effective and see how that works out for u.

For short term use, the maximum amount of ibuprofen is 800 mg 3 times a day. This was often used by prescription for many arthritic conditions in the past. However, if your headache is lasting three days the cause should be evaluated

and not just covered up with continued ibuprofen use.

The maximum dose of ibuprofen is 3.2 g daily. Individuals should not use ibuprofen for more than 10 days for the treatment of pain or more than 3 days for the treatment of a fever unless directed by a physician.

Children 6 months to 12 years of age usually are given 5-10 mg/kg of ibuprofen every 6-8 hours for the treatment of fever and pain. The maximum dose is 40 mg/kg daily.

You can try taking Tylenol as well as the ibuprofen. Just stagger it so that you are taking one then the other every two hours.

I take 2 or 3 at a time depending on the severity of my headache. You can take another and you should be fine

Your fine. Prescription strength Ibuprofen is much more than OTC.  As long as your liver is in working order you'll be OK.

I'm sure it's safe to take another it's been several hours since your last one. But are they working? You may want to try acetaminophen (Tylenol) or something like that. Also it depends on your age and more specifically your weight. If one isn't cutting it 2 may work better (depending on what strength they are), but like I said it depends on your age/weight.
