  1. Yes you can take food onto trains. When I was a kid and we went by train to Wales for our holidays my parents would alway make (a picnic) sandwiches, crisps, boiled eggs, cake & coffee.

These day people take MacDonalds on the trains all the time.

  2. I do every day.

  3. In Britain you certainly can.

  4. If you are going  on along distance train you get take as much food as you like to eat along the way. as there is a little table you can use to put your food on, If you a travelling long distance across the boarder, from one country to another you have to be careful of what food you can take, like fruit, etc as you might spread diseases, from one state to another.   If you are just travelling locally within the city you cannot eat food on these trains, you can take it on with you so long as you dont open it or drink it.  i hope this has answered your question.

  5. is there any signs saying not to?

  6. It really depends on the country and rail-line.

I remember as a kid we always had food on the long train trips in Europe !!  On CalTrain here in California, it's permissible as long as it doesn't disturb others... same with ACE train

  7. It can depend on which country that you are writing about.

Most countries allow food on long haul trains, but some of the metro services do not allow food or drink on the service.

I live in Australia and on city and metro services you are not allowed. On long haul trains you are allowed but must clean up your debris. and definately not allowed to cook on the train.

In India, you often find families around a small stove cooking on long haul trains.

  8. Of course, but I wouldn't make it a picnic basket.

  9. yes

  10. you can take food and drinks on the train.
