Can i take my car to Canada? the registration is not under my name?

im planning to go to canada on swap program, i wanna drive there, my car is not registerd in my name but my dad's name...am i gonna run into any problems at the border???

  1. You might be able to get a notarized paper (along with proof of registration) saying that your father is allowing you to take the car to Canada. Make sure you check with the insurance company to see what rules they have as well as far as coverage goes. Here is a site I found:

  2. To be honest, I'm not quite sure but as far as I can remember when crossing the border, I don't remember you needing to show your car registration. Their could be more to show at the border depending on your length of stay though.  

  3. Sure you can come here with this car, only thing you need is authorization document from you dad on the photocopy of his driver license and your DL(make sure all on one paper)and also insurance to cover you here.
