Can i take pics/videos off abandoned websites and use?

i am staring a website and was told i could use pics/videos off abandoned websites and use them for free on my site. true or faulse. no copyright is used for the sites anymore

Still, there's no guarantee that the person who previously owned that abandoned website had the same idea you have. They may have ripped their images from someone else and violated copyright rules themselves, so it's not a good idea to put yourself at risk.

You can find a few sites that offer royalty-free images for free download, but the best ones are probably going to cost you. You can buy great images on istockphoto.com for pretty cheap I believe.
