I recently had a dispute with a neighbour of mine and during the argument she called me a grass for reporting my lost mail to royal mail, i asked her how she knew this and she said The local postman told her all the reports we had made to royal mail over the last year that were private and that one of the depot workers were going to break my arms and legs if i report them again, we had police involved but could i take royal mail to court as i am sure this is wrong?

  1. Report this to Royal Mail as the postman is breaking the law in particular the Data Protection Act which is a criminal offence. You have every right to tell them about lost mail cos you never know who has got it and it has nothing to do with your neighbour. The police should arrest and charge her with threatening behaviour. I also suggest putting security cameras up to record what she is saying. Mount them inside your house behind a window and leave a small window open and the camera will pick up the sound. Contact your local council too as they have powers to deal with people like this. Good luck to you and i hope this helps.

  2. Yes you can sue.

  3. they should not be saying this to other people and prob would lose their job if found out. id contact a solicitor or citizen advice and get this sorted..what other information has he/she been givin out???

    goodluck

  4. If you can afford the legal fees there is nothing to stop you. Of course if you lose you will have to pay their costs.

First thing to do is go to a solicitor (make sure you ask how much the hourly fee will be)
