Can i take the Battery pack out of my Laptop and use energy from the AC Adapter???

Is this possible.. should i charge my laptop's lithium ion battery to 100% and place it in a dark, cool, place....???

I want to take the battery out and use the AC adapter to supply energy to my laptop, since i only use it for my computer desk...

Is this possible?

  1. im pretty sure that will work but you might get a popup saying that your battery slot is empty but it should work


  2. It's not only possible, it's actually a very good idea.  If you keep your laptop battery in and keep the charger plugged in all the time, it won't be too long before you fry your battery to the point that it will only hold a charge for up to an hour :(  

    Run the battery down as much as possible, take it out, and plug the AC adapter into the laptop.  Then when you're ready to take it on the road again, plug the battery in and charge it.

  3. Yes, this is possible.  As long as you have the laptop plugged in 100% of the time.  For your information.  Even if you keep the battery out of the laptop, over time the charge will drain.
