Can i teach schools with a first class misdemeanor?

  1. It is up to the school district and board of education, but, generally, yes, you can teach with a first class misdemeanor.  They will look at you on a case-by-case basis.  Curious, was it marijuana?  (Rhetorical)!!!

    If the school district warrants that your particular misdemeanor is a threat to your position, or it created a loss of your licensure to teach, then, yes, you are the subject of "Collateral consequences of criminal charges" and could be denied teaching in some districts.
