Can i teach small rats(baby rats) that are at least 7 weeks old to do tricks?

  1. At that age you can work on their learning their names. Every time you pass the cage, say the name of a rat who is near the bars and touch their nose. If you do this consistently they can often learn their names. That is an excellent start.

    Other than that, what you want to be working on is general socialization. Interact with them a lot. A relaxed and socialized rat will be easier to train later. Be sure when you do progress to tricks that you do it for the rats enjoyment.


  2. Yeah! I used to have a rat, and she was box trained, would beg for treats, leash trained. I would let her out, and she knew she wasn't supposed to leave the carpeted area, and a couple times when she was out all night, she came right when she was called. She was a great rat!

    Rats are super smart!

  3. Hai! Ok so the baby rats are still young, you shouldnt force them but bring them to easier levers of tricks and do the same day after day and as it grows up it will learn more and better!! So keep trying and good luck!!
