Can i tie dye white soffe shorts (50% polyester 50% cotton) kelly green with out faded or pastel colors?????

i really need help on this internet links would help but i need to know ASAP. if not can you offer alternatives such as shorts and Dye? these are for cheerleading if that helps?

Don't use dyes for this, because it won't work. Instead, use a good thin fabric paint, such as Jacquard's "Dye-na-Flow" fabric paint, or Dharma Trading Company's "Dharma Pigment Dyes", which aren't dyes at all. Both of these fabric paints are thin enough to almost feel like dye, unlike scratchier paints, and both of them will work on both polyester and cotton.

If you use dye to color shorts that are 50% polyester and 50% cotton, the most you will get will be pastel colors. You can't dye polyester/cotton blends to a bright or dark color unless you dye them twice with two completely different types of dye.

The polyester in your shorts will not accept any dye that works on cotton. Rit dye won't work at all on polyester,, and neither will better dyes for cotton such as the Procion dyes used in good tie-dye kits. The only dye you can get that will work on polyester is a special polyester dye called disperse dye. Disperse dye is available only by mail order, since your local shops don't have it, and it won't work on cotton. It's not worth the expense or trouble. Buy a good fabric paint instead.
