Try the palomar knot.  It's easy and will hold tight

You could probably tie 3 or 4 overhand knots and catch fish, but it takes less time to tie a palomar or a double palomar knot, which is basicly only 1 overhand knot and your guaranteed a much stronger knot and a better bait presentation.

If you don't have time to learn a variety of knots before you go next time the Improved Clinch Knot is very easy and very reliable.

A regular knot is not strong enough for, fishing purposes.

I prefer a palomar knot.

It will work its way loose and there is a good chance you can lose your fish and hook, try the palomar knot.
