  1. no>you burn yourself

  2. sure -- if you have spare parts that you don't mind getting burned off.

consider, the military used magnesium to burn holes in steel, like tanks, because it burns so hot.

sometimes you see people burning very volatile liquids in their hands.

that's possible because the liquid evaporates very easily and cools as it does so.

it does burn after, and releases considerable heat.

but the cooling associated with evaporation protects you.

if you watch, they never let whatever it is burn to the end.

at the end, there isn't enough evaporation, and it gets hot.

  3. You would be able to, but I would strongly recommend against it.

  4. If you want to lose your finger, yes.

  5. this is a really simple question

it is common sense that any falme should not be approached with hands your hands will scale up or even burn because there is HEAT involved.

    so never try this

  6. that was because magnesium is burning in oxygen producing magnesium oxide. But never tough it because this chemical reaction is exothermic meaning its Hot.It can be up to 500degree Celcius so never touch it!!!

  7. This reminds me of a question, usually tongue-in-cheek, that I get from my students.

..... "Mr. Jones can we drink this hydro-whatsit-acid?"

    And my response is

    ..... "Sure, once."

  8. don't touch it, and do not look directly at it, can cause eye damage.
