Can i transfer a telephone line from sheffield to lincoln?

My Father owns a shop in Sheffield and it is closing down. Can I transfur the number to my home in Lincoln, if so how much would it cost. ?

No - I presume you are talking about a BT line? You have to stay within the same exchange area.

No as the answer above said, it's out of exchange.

would it be easier to just ring BT and ask?  They may redirect the no, but as it's a different exchange the number would have to change
