Can i travel with anothers ticket in a train.?

My brother booked a train ticket from Hyd. to Banglore. But he is unable to go there as he was busy. Can i travel with his ticket ?My age is 19 and my brothers age is 30.

  1. Yes you can do this as suggested by other friend but it

    it is only possible if they have room  at that time


  2. It is not permitted. Dont worry,  there is an option where it can be changed to your name.

    There is a section in railways where it says -- "Where the passenger makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train that the reservation made in his name may be transferred to another member of his family, meaning, Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife.
