  1. I'm sure that would be fine, as long as you gave it some water for the journey.

Boys do eventually stop marking thier terrotory eventually when the scent stays, but washinig the cage does get rid of it so Im afraid there's not much you can do about it.

On another note, I wouldn't recommend keeping a rat on its own. They are very intelligant and enjoy another rats company. But I wouldnt keep 2 of opposite sexes as they can multiply in a blink of an eye

  2. as a rodent owner - call the airline and ask about the rat.  A great many airlines won't let rodents onto their planes - something ridiculous about if a gnawing animal that could fit into tight spaces got loose on a plane while it was in the air and decided to chew on wires or something like that.  Anyway, ask the specific airline before you commit to buying a ticket.  It would suck to get to the airport and find you couldn't take your pet with you.  They'll probably also know what the requirements for bringing an animal into the country is as well.

  3. Sure. Make sure he has his cage (or similar sized), when you're going to be wherever you're going for a long period of time. You can get a small carrier for long trips. When I take my rats to the vet (30 minute drive), I let them free in the car...they stay on the seats/center console, climb onto my shoulders, and generally hang out.

Your males will always mark. You must get used to little piddles. Once they get used to where they are they might to it less, but they wont stop.

  4. i think rats wouldn't mind the trip if it has a big enough cage and food bedding...  male rats will not stop peeing because it's instinct that makes them do that... just live with it!

im getting 2 males and can't wait i just dont want them peeing everywere... anyway. 8 )

    enjoy ur ratties
