Can i turn off the internet on a blackberry phone?

ok, i have family plan with my parents that i pay for, and i wanted another phone but its too early for me to upgrade.....so a friend said he could get me a blackberry phone without the internet so i wont have to pay as much...is this possible to own a blackberry phone without the internet n jut th regular plan i have?? my company is at&t

Yes.  You can have a BB and not have a data plan that allows access to the internet.  That is, you can use it only as a cell phone.
