  1. .

Page 102, Highway Code, Revised 2007 Edition:

"A GREEN ARROW may be provided in addition to the full green signal if movement in a certain direction is allowed before or after the full green phase. If the way is clear you may go but only in the direction shown by the arrow. You may do this whatever other lights may be showing."

"GREEN means you may go on if the way is clear. Take special care if you intend to turn left or right and give way to pedestrians who are crossing."

So, yes, you can proceed if theway is clear without the green arrow showing.

I live in Asia and I have a copy of the latest Highway Code, so when I visit the UK I am up-to-date with the latest rules....what's your excuse for not knowing this?

It costs only 2.50 and you'll make that back easily by knowing the rules of the road, believe me.

  2. As long as there is no on coming traffic at the time then yes you can, the green arrow just gives you right of way.

  3. you can go when its safe if the green arrow its not working.but you can still go on and turn if theres no traffic.

  4. I don't know for definite, but I think probably yes.

I always turn right in that situation if the coast is clear.
