I like everything about the SRAM RED group except the deraileurs. Can use CAMPY deraileurs and/or shifters with the rest of the components from the RED group?

  1. Too bad... if you are basing the preference of derailleurs on looks I agree with you but SRAM Red derailleurs operate much nicer than Campys in my opinion.

Anyway, to answer your question, SRAM and Campy are not compatible.

EDIT: Aw, bad boy... the cable pull ratio is different on SRAM and Campy. The SRAM pulls too much cable (or not enough- I forget) and will force the Campy derailleur too far (or not far enough- I forget).

  2.    Shifters and derailleurs must be of the same brand. Crank-sets, rear sprockets, chains, brakes can many times be mixed.

  3. Hate to disagree with Mirage, but he's wrong on this one.  Derailleurs have no idea what system is operating them. They just have high and low limit stops.  You can use Campy with SRAM shifters, or with Shimano shifters for that matter.  All modern derailleurs are designed to span the same dimensions.  You can't use the Campy shifters, however, because the index spacing is different.

The SRAM shifters will control the Campy derailleurs with absolutely no problem.
