  1. Hi, Of course, € is accepted in the world.

Personnally, i will be able to go to Cuba when the country and citizen will be free, will be a democratic country,  I don't spend my money in a totalitary country, sorry, I find many others islands in Caribbean, pretty, clean, with beautiful beaches, where I cannot see the citizens suffered, it's no a politic answer, it's my ethic.

  2. no but you need to get your cash when you get there....pescos, i think that there are tourist ones and "real" ones for everyone else....hope you have a good trip

  3. NO You can NOT use Euros y Cuba.  You have to exchange your Euros into Pesos Convertibles Cubanos.  Do not bring US Dlls.  There is a 20percent tax to exchange USDlls.

  4. In certain tourist areas in Cuba, you can use euros directly. (Cayo Coco is one and I am pretty sure that Varadero is another). However I don't know how the exchange rates used work.

In the rest, you need to change the euros for convertible pesos - CUCs.

  5. As a standard, only CUC (Cuban convertible pesos) can be used in Cuba by tourists. Cuba definitely accepts Euros (as well as CAD, UK pounds and Swiss Francs without incurring conversion charges).

These can be changed at the airport upon arrival and at the resorts.

Also all of these are freely exchanged at all CADECA branches and most banks around Cuba. Be sure to bring relatively fresh and new bills to be on the safe side because Cuban banks will sometimes refuse to accept bills with even slight tears or markings.

The CUC (Cuban convertible peso) is the only currency accepted in business establishments throughout Cuba, when making purchases, so you will need to exchange your money for sure.

  6. I've been to Cuba many times, but not found any place that will simply accept euros. All hotels/shops/restaurants/etc. accept CUC (Cuban Convertible Pesos), so you'll need to get your euros exchanged into these once you arrive. But remember to change any spare CUCs back to euros before you fly home (you can do this at Havana International Airport), since I've never found any bank that will exchange CUCs outside Cuba.

Check my answer to the question "Is it possible to take money from ATM´s in Cuba?" (see link below) for more info.

  7. yes , of coarse you can , sure  they belong to the eu , don't they , or am i making a mistake

  8. The Cuban government prefers Euros over U.S. dollars, for it is worth more. They also have a 10% surcharge if you exchange any money to U.S. dollars while they is no charge for Euros.

  9. You should change them into Convertible Pesos CUC  when you arrive that way you will have no problem.  Check the rate below.
