  1. Yes, IMRON was originally developed by DuPont as a heavy fleet truck and aircraft paint.  

    It's the most durable paint I've ever seen to use on a car or boat.   That stuff is as hard as rock when it's fully cured.    

    I've seen it on several boats with great results.


  2. I think IMRON paint is automotive paint?  I don't think it would hold up well as boat paint.  It is made for a different purpose and different conditions.  These links may help.  Best of luck with it.

  3. Yes you could use Imron, I think one of the big yacht makers use to paint their boats with it.   however, the only safe way to spray imron is in a full suit and using a air fed respirator.  No filtration mask is safe.  

    I painted my boat 13 years ago with a sherwin williams product, it goes directly over the gelcoat, no primer.  This way, if painting in a similar color, scratches and such are much less visible.  I forget the name, something like Sunbright or a name like that.

    Painting the gel coat was the best thing I ever did, no more fading whatsoever.

  4. yes you can, imron is a dupont product use proper venaltaion

    and stay above the water line,ppg also uses concept  on boats it will be a little cheaper and more user friendly in all honstley  you can use any line of urethane paint with the proper hardners the are many  brands just go to a local paint jobber for help
