can i use RG59 cable to install my sky dish, i have nearly 200m of the stuff but not sure if the picture will be of good quality

  1. It depends on how long a run you make.I wouldn't use it from dish to tuner (unless less than 50') from tuner to sets/ab switches can be longer .Try it using it shouldn't hurt anything permanently


  2. Not unless its a short length, the losses would be too high. The correct cable is cheap enough.

  3. RG6 is preferred.  RG59 has a higher signal loss per foot and if you are going with very long runs, you could very well end up with a poor signal.  You may be able to get away with it if your connectors are crimped properly and you are using terminators on unused splitter ports.
