the radio scanner asks for input of 9v and 300ma. at one point it says "at least" 300ma. 1000 is clearly more than 300, but is it too much and will it fry my scanner?

the power adapter is from a linksys router.

  1. Assuming the voltage and Polarity are correct (very important) the scanner will only draw as much current as it's rated, so a 1000 ma power supply will be loafing and safe.  IF your original posting of 100ma was correct, it might work a little, but don't count on any seriuos volume, and don't expect it to last for long being over loaded like that.  The Power supply should always equal or have greater ma capability than the load requires.      Make sure that the power suupply tip and ring are the correct polarity for the scanne, else you coudl fry it!
