Can i use a NYC Metrocard in Baltimore?

this might be a stupid question - but i just bought a metrocard from a subway in NYC. I didn't buy the unlimited monthly one, i just put $50 on it. I will be traveling to baltimore next week and i would like to know if i can use this metrocard in baltimore or do i have to buy a new one? i'll be taking the baltimore light rail train. thanks for your help.

  1. No, unfortunately not.

    The only thing that we have managed to "coordinate" on is the EasyPass for highway tollls :-)

No, you can't use the NYC card in Baltimore.  When you purchased the stored value card, NYC received $50 that they credited towards your card.  If you tried to use that card in Baltimore, Baltimore won't honor it for 2 reasons:  First, they havne't received money from you and sceond, it's likely the card won't even register on their system.
