  1. Depends if the phone is locked.  When I moved Australia to England my phone didn't work.

  2. If you just put an Oz sim card in yes it should work fine

  3. Yes just make sure it is unlocked.

I regularly travel between London and WA. I keep an Australian SIM card back home and swap them when I go there. It will also be cheaper than using your English SIM in OZ

  4. You need to unlock the handset to do this. If your handset can accept any UK network sim such as Orange, Vodafone and o2 then your handset is unlocked.

If it cannot do this then you will need to unlock your mobile to accept all sims. The website shown gives some more information on this topic:

  5. it should do

sometimes you dont even need to change sim card. when i went to hong kong it automatically changed my network to the HK O2 equivalent.

it might be easier not to change anything.

the only problem i can see is you will need an adapter to charge it if you keep the same phone.

  6. As long as the phone is not locked...

Also, don't, as some people are suggesting, just use your English sim - this will cost you an absolute fortune for calls!!

I moved to Greece for a while and just put a Greek sim in my phone - worked fine :)

  7. yes it might work my uncle from england came to australia came to visit and his mobile worked fine but i dont know what he was with so it might work but im not 100% sure
