There is a USB hub on the side of my camera. My computer detects the camera as a USB composite device. However, when i use the program "import from tape" it says the camera is not connected. Check the i.LINK connection. What do i need to do to put video on my Computer?

  1. The USB connection on your camcorder is for transferring stills.  The video needs to be transferred via firewire, aka i.Link.  If your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.

Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (should already be on your PC).

  2. if u hav a USB port on your camrera then yes...
