I don't think Amazon will accept a border's gift card. You can try it. I be very surprise if they did.   :)

YES! This is from their web site.

U.S. Borders, Waldenbooks, and Brentano's Gift Cards may be used in combination with Amazon.com gift certificates. This includes the use of a gift certificate balance with a U.S. Borders, Waldenbooks, and Brentano's Gift Card. However, a credit card number must still be provided when placing the order.

Note: This is from the Border's Store on Amazon. I was not able to find the same info on the Amazon help but I assume it works both ways.
