Can i use a composite AV cable for my samsung tv? or do i have to use component?

which one is better quality? and can i use both for tv out from my ipod classic? i have a samsung tv.

  1. Depends on what you are trying to do.  The cable themselves are constructed pretty much the same.  Component input on the tv has a better quality picture because it splits the video signal into three parts.  Composite uses the one yellow wire for video.  Composite is Standard Definiton only.  Component can carry both sd and hd.  That's about the best I can do without more info.  any of those cables will work for TV out on your Ipod.


  2. Just remember that a component cable is only video and that you will need to hook up rca cables for audio or for best sounds see if you can use optical cable because it's digital not analog like rca.

  3. Component is better.
