Can i use a ferret cage for my chinchilla?

The cage would be 2ft long, 2ft wide, and 46 inches tall.

  1. It should work well. Just watch and possibly put up some extra wall material if your chinchilla ever has babies, one time we had a 1 day old one get out of our similar cage. It was tough to find and very hungry when we put it back with the mother.


  2. Oh yeah that should be fine! Ferret cages are great since they are so big! I am heading out to buy one for my rats later this week!

  3. You sure can. Just make sure its not plastic. Plastic can cause death if ingested in chins.
