  1. Only if the tank is around 5000 gallons and you need to empty it. Sump pumps suck out water at a fast rate.


  2. Yes u can...But do u really have a tank that big?  I have a 150 gal. tank and I only use a siphon tube.  U use it for aquariums to siphon water out.
