Can i use a semi colon in this sentence?

Technically it's correct, but it makes for a long sentence.  Using a period might make the writing more elegant.

The second sentence is much better.

yes I checked it with word grammar and spell check and all it said was that you for got to capitalize the first word. SHAME ON YOU, that is like forgetting to take the paper off a tampon before you shove it inside you know where. =)
