Can i use aluminium foil in microwave oven?

i wanted to make popcorn so covered d bowl wit aluminium foil,it went fyn fr 1.30 min thn whn i again did it thr was a spark.,

i switched it off immediately.,.

hav i damaged my micro??

i saw tht v can use al foils.,

so plz tell!!!!

    And don't worry your microwave is okay, just don't use aluminum foil in your microwave.

  2. No aluminum in a microwave, ever! You have not damaged the oven but make sure you have not done any damage to the door gasket. You should be fine. Next time use wax paper.

  4. your microwave should be okay. I worked as a chef all my life and a stray piece of foil has got in now and again. you cannot use metal in a microwave. The spark you heard will burn a hole in the plastic coating and it will eventually break. Watch out also for plates with metal embossing.....

  5. You shouldn't use any metal in a microwave and aluminum foil is just that, aluminum.  Buy microwave popcorn, much better.  Your nuker is probably o.k..  You can get away with foil if the density of the food is greater than the density of the foil but you have to know what you're doing.

  6. no you can't, you can cause a massive fire, to make popcorn in the microwave, use a brown bag roll end of opening  3 times facing down, set for 2.30 min. Good Luck!
