Can i use an album cover in a magazine article if i only give photo credits?

i am not involved with magazines at all but in my opinion i feel that using an album cover would be ok because it is a piece of art. i would use photo credits but i would also include the name of the album and the name of the artist because wihtout them, the album woudln't have been possible. i would recomend further looking into what i said because once again i am not involved with magazines at all but as a student who has done reports and essays and have used bibliographys, that's wat i would do.
