Can i use an ati radeon 4870x2 card on a x48 motherboard with pci-e x16 slots?

or do i need pci-e x16 2.o to run it? ive read it uses an x16 2.0 slot and was wondering if it was backwards compatible.

  1. You shouldn't have a problem.  I have just a 4870 in a normal 16x slot.  It does cause a slight bottle neck.  You won't see the maximum performance out of it.

    PCI-e 2.0 cards are backwards compatible.
