Can i use an iphone 3G with wifi internet?

Can i use an iphone 3G with wifi internet? if i can what can i do with it make calls, browse the web etc....? i was just wondering because i am getting a iphone 3G this month it's going to be unlocked.

okyes it works on wifi duh and two if it is unlocked dont buy it because if somehing happens to it u cant return it and or it can brick which means u have a paper wieght and apple wont do nething
