  1. Yes you can try.

  2. no,it won't work in the long run.the sealant will come apart.use grey marine apoxy putty.you can get it @hardware stores.pet stores sell something simular.

  3. Yes indeed you can. I built a whole entire cave like that for my knifefish. It works but it requires some hard work. Do not use to big and heavy rocks. Use rocks with a rough texture. Good Luck!

  4. Yes, but most need to cure outside of water. If you're using the silicon on base rock, this isn't an issue, but if you're using it on live rock in a saltwater aquarium, it can't be done.

In the event that the rocks need to stay in water, you can get really long plastic cable ties from most hardware stores for cheep. You can use them to band the rocks together. Coralline algae will later grow over the bands, hiding them extremely well.

  5. short answer is yes you can,  scrub rocks first, but please allow 3 days for silicon to cure,  then wash thoroughly   BEFORE  placing in any fish tank.

if you can use the black silicon on  dark rocks, ( on ebay  ) clear for light rocks. it makes life easier if you can lift a whole cave out  rather than a load of rocks to catch any fish. but be care-full of the  size and weight of rocks,
