Can i use automobile GPS in non US countries?

Am planning to get one but in the Philippines am not sure if GPS works. Is there a fee to using GPS?

The GPS will work, it is worldwide. So you will get position in terms of latitude and longitude.

The maps may not work.

Most GPS sold in USA only have USA map (database).

So you really have to check with your specific GPS.

Get Phillipines mapping.

A GPS set up for local mapping USA will NOT give accurate lat/ long in the Phillipines, any more than an aircraft GPS will, unless the local coding (on all the maps) is entered into it.
