  1. Very few places, if any accept a birth certificate as formal ID.

  3. No you must have a passport. and depending where you are coming from, a visa.

  4. if your travelling between ireland and england all you need is photo id, your birth cert is no good for travelling

    Get yerself a passport; who knows where it might take you?

  8. No. I can get just about anybody's birth cert. - I'm a geneological researcher- You need a passport with your picture on if you're flying or a driving licence with picture will do if going by boat

  10. Your birth-cert is not a form of ID. It may state (prove?) that Joe Citizen was born in a certain place to particular parents on a given date, but how would any one know that this information refers to you?

    Get yourself a passport. it cuts out all the hassle.
