Question:

Can i use brown sugar instead of regular sugar to make hummingbird nectar?

i usually mix 4 cups of sugar to a gallon of water to feed the hummingbirds but i ran out of sugar and i dont really want to take a trip to town and spend $10 in gas just to get a bag of sugar, can i use brown sugar instead?

  1. All brown sugar has that is different is molasses. It'll still be sweet. I think it's going to work, only it will be brown.


  2. Sure!  It's just sugar with molasses added.
